Sports Teams & Events

High Peaks Resort is built for teams, not just travelers. We host CAN/AM Hockey and CHE Hockey teams all winter, welcomed Lake Placid Summit Lacrosse Classic and Summit Youth Lacrosse Classic every summer, lodged rugby teams headed to the Can-Am Rugby Tournament in nearby Saranac Lake, and accommodated national and international teams competing in baseball, basketball, ice skating, sliding sports, and alpine skiing events. Different sports need different things from a hotel, and after years of hosting all of them, we've learned what each one actually requires.

Meeting & Event Space

The property offers 10,156 square feet of dedicated meeting space across five rooms, accommodating up to 300 in a single room and larger configurations across multiple spaces. Each room is supported by on-property audiovisual rental and catering from the High Peaks Resort culinary team, built for anything from a full team meeting to a coaches' film session.

  • Great Range. Our flagship space, best suited to team meetings and walkthroughs.
  • Marcy Boardroom. An intimate setting for coaches' meetings and film review.
  • McIntyre Range. Room to scale for full roster gatherings and multi day camps.
  • Sentinel Range. Above Main Street, a space for smaller meetings and meals with mountain views.
  • Avalanche Pass. Spacious pre-function space for team check in and gathering.

Lake House

Lake House is the primary accommodations recommendation for team travel. Its 44 rooms and mid century modern design give a team its own space, separate from the Main Resort building, with its own entrance and common areas. For larger squads or full delegations, Lake House is available as a full property buyout, giving your team exclusive use of the building.

High Peaks Resort

Main Resort's 105 rooms sit across the street from Lake House, with most rooms looking out over Mirror Lake and the Adirondack Mountains. The building has more room to spread out for larger delegations, and its dining and lobby spaces give a team a different kind of shared area than Lake House's Great Room, more traditional resort, with easy access to Dancing Bears Restaurant on site. Waterfront Collection's 28 rooms sit directly on Mirror Lake, the closest lake access of any of the three properties, and work well for coaches, staff, or family traveling with a team.

Training & Recovery Access

High Peaks Resort sits on Main Street in downtown Lake Placid, half a mile from the Olympic Center, close enough to walk to and from training without building a shuttle into the schedule.

  • Proximity. Half a mile walk to the Olympic Center from either property.
  • Pool and Hot Tub. Available at both properties for recovery and relaxation, not lap swimming. Lake House's pool is available exclusively to your team when the property is booked as a full buyout.
  • Village Access. Main Street's shops and restaurants are a walk away, an easy change of scenery between sessions or games.
  • Wellness Programming. Sound bathing, forest bathing, and yoga can be arranged through local partners, coordinated in advance through our sales team.

Team Dining & Nutrition

Dining is arranged in advance with your tournament or team organizer, so the specific options available to your group are set as part of that planning, not chosen individually on site.

  • Breakfast. Full hot spreads alongside lighter, protein forward options like yogurt and eggs, built for teams heading straight to competition and needing something that sits well before a first game.
  • Lunch. Sit down buffet options for groups whose schedule includes it, arranged directly with your organizer around game and travel times.
  • Dinner. Full buffets with themed spreads, sized and set up so a whole team can sit down together, ranging from hearty comfort fare after a hard day of games to lighter options for teams facing an early start the next morning.

Dietary needs, including diverse or specialized diets, allergen restrictions, and nutrition focused requests, are accommodated with advance notice, whether that's a single player's allergy or a full team following a specific nutrition plan.
