Pumpkin Spice Cocktails

This fall has been a particularly orange one. The trees that are normally vivid reds and purples were rust and maroon and the last hangers-on of autumn leaves make the Adirondack landscape more of a sunscape, rising directly up from Mirror Lake and covering the mountains in gold. The nip in the air tickling the noses of those of us lucky enough to be here means it's time to tuck into the autumn and the perfect way to do that is with a beverage crafted by Jamielynn Brydalski, mixologist at Dancing Bears Restaurant.

To help you get into an autumn frame of mind while you anxiously await your next visit to Lake Placid, Jamielynn shared with us two easy to make recipes inspired by the pumpkin orange of this year's Adirondack foliage that are sure to please whether you want to warm up to the season or hold on to cool summer cocktails.

Pumpkin Spice Spiked Coffee

Pumpkin Spice Spiked Coffee

This simple recipe is a great way to end your fall hike in Lake Placid or drink at home cozied up next to a fire. Jamielynn combines the perfect mix of pumpkin spice and earthy, sweet whipped cream topping with cinnamon, opening your senses to the true essence of autumn.

Ingredients

Black Coffee
1½ ounce Baileys Pumpkin Spice Cream Liqueur

Method

  1. Add Baileys Pumpkin Spice Cream Liqueur to a cup of black coffee.
  2. Top with whipped cream and fresh ground cinnamon.

Pumpkin Spice White Russian

Pumpkin Spice White Russian

It's hard to make The Dude's favorite drink any better, but with a kick of pumpkin spice creme liqueur, we think we've done it justice. The bartenders at Dancing Bears have made this cocktail a favorite here in Lake Placid and we're sure you'll enjoy it at home, too.

Ingredients

1½ ounce Baileys Pumpkin Spice Cream Liqueur
1 ounce Tito's Handmade Vodka
½ ounce Kahlua
2 ounces Cream

Method

  1. Put all ingredients in a tall glass with ice and shake until frothy.
  2. Finish with fresh ground cinnamon and espresso beans.
