Standup paddleboard yoga is exactly as fun as it sounds, and Mirror Lake is a great place to try it. Our summer SUP Yoga sessions at High Peaks Resort meet on the water for an hour of guided flow that also gives your core a real workout. Instructor Brooks Fraser leads a sequence built for the board, so balance is part of the practice instead of something to stress about. First-timers are welcome, and a little wobble is part of the deal.

Classes meet Mondays at 9AM in July and August on Mirror Lake at High Peaks Resort in Lake Placid, weather permitting. Boards, paddles, and PFDs provided. Sessions are open to High Peaks Resort guests. Space is limited.

About Instructor Brooks Fraser:

Brooks Fraser began her yoga journey over twenty years ago at The Yoga Room in Astoria, Queens, where she discovered that movement and breath could open doors to deeper self-awareness and transformation. After completing her first teacher training in Hot Core Power Yoga in 2006, she continued to expand her practice at beloved studios like Laughing Lotus and Yogamaya in New York City and deepened her meditation studies at Kadampa Meditation Center with Kadam Morten.

Now based in Lake Placid, Brooks holds a 200-hour certification in Hatha Yoga and Ayurveda from High Peaks Yoga and Ayurveda. She is also a licensed New York State hiking and camping guide and a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, supporting planetary health by nurturing heart-centered relationships between people and the More-Than-Human World of Nature. Brooks leads her classes with warmth and intention, believing that yoga and meditation are for every body and every soul. Her passion for ongoing learning and her deep connection to nature inspire her teaching, inviting students to explore mindfulness, movement, and community both on and off the mat.
