The Lake Placid Summit Classic is the Premier Lacrosse League's flagship tournament, and 2026 marks its 37th year in town. From July 27 through August 2, teams arrive from across the country to play on the fields at the North Elba Athletic Complex and the nearby Horse Show Grounds. The first stretch, July 27 to 29, is the scholastic tournament, including the Girls Nike Northstar Division and the Boys Summit Division. The adult tournament follows from July 29 to August 2, with collegiate alumni squads, a Women's 35+ Division, a newly added Men's 70+ Division, and the annual Legends of LP Lax ceremony honoring the people who built the event.

Even if you're not holding a stick, it's a great week to be in Lake Placid. Both sites run a full vendor village with gear, food, and lacrosse brands, and the energy across the fields makes for an easy afternoon of watching high-level play in a beautiful setting. The tournament brings a lot of families to town, so if you're traveling in for it, High Peaks Resort puts you close to the fields and within walking distance of Main Street for everything off the field. Summer dates around the Summit Classic fill up early, so book your stay well ahead.
